Panorama
|
The suburb of Panorama is located only a
few kilometres from the center of Thessaloniki.
It is exactly what its name suggests: a
viewpoint overlooking the city and the gulf.
It is built on the lush green hill of Panorama
at the foot of Mount Chortiatis at a height of
250 meters above the Thermaic Gulf. Due to its
natural beauty and the careful human
intervention it has become one of the most
beautiful and most elegant areas of the broader
region of Thessaloniki. |

Due to its location, its “panoramic” view, its
ideal climate and its vegetation, it’s tempting
both for a permanent residence or just to get
away for a day.
It is a region where unique types of urban
development, tourist facilities and a protected
ecosystem coexist.
Panorama has been built in 1922 by refugees from
Minor Asia and Black Sea (Pontos). |

Today it counts
20.000 inhabitants and besides the beauty of its
landscape, it is a modern and dynamically
developing municipality.
It provides modern, organized and luxurious
hotel units, restaurants, an open-air cinema, a
public cafeteria and several recreational areas.
There are also very well organized athletic
venues, like football pitches, tennis courts, an
indoor multiple use athletic center and a modern
indoor gym, a riding club and a swimming pool.
At the same time Panorama is very actively
involved in various cultural activities. |
